An audit is the process of systematic examination of the IMS system carried out by an internal or external auditor or an audit team. It is an important part of an organization's quality management system and is a key element in the ISO quality system standard (ISO 9001).
Non-conformances result when a product, service, or process falls short of industry-defined regulations and standards. Non-conformances may result in a negative impact on the business.
